FAQs

WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH PURCHASES?

Prints are generally on 100lb matte paper. Shipping is about $5 domestic to cover the USPS fee and shipping materials, it will cost more internationally. If there’s a piece you are desperately interested in that is not in the shop, send me a message and I’ll do my best to print it for you. Please notify me and send pictures if your piece is damaged in the shipping process—this will help me figure out the best method for shipping. Originals will be available occasionally, I will announce it on Instagram, and it will be in the shop.

WHAT INSPIRES YOUR ARTWORK?

My lineage is mainly Middle Eastern and Scandinavian—I like to think a lot of my work has subconscious connections to my ancestors. Having a BA in Anthropology also drew me closer to historical figures, archaeology, bones, artifacts, petroglyphs, etc. I’ve always had a deep curiosity for astronomy/cosmology—including the unknown, such as multi-dimensional theories, portals, aliens, dark matter, you name it. Growing up in the Colorado Rockies gave me access to the natural world. Trees, fungus, water, animals, flowers, fire, etc. You’d be a liar if you didn’t take inspiration from nature as an artist. Others; the supernatural, archetypes, love, psychedelia, spirituality, the list goes on ad infinitum.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE TATTOOS?

First of all—wow thank you—it’s mind blowing and humbling when someone asks me this. I don’t design specific tattoos but you are welcome to tattoo something from my existing pieces—just please let me know! I have a tattoo token in my shop, please purchase one before getting the tattoo—most respectable tattoo artists may check to make sure you have the artists permission before they tattoo you. PLEASE, always get permission from artists before doing this. I would also love to know which piece/part of a piece you want to get and where on your body! Of course, send me photos once it’s done, and tag me on social media if/whenever you post it. I’m so excited at the prospect of this, don’t be afraid to talk to me more about it!

WHAT IS A TATTOO TOKEN?

It’s something that is becoming more popular among artists and is a way to show your appreciation and support for their work. You can purchase one in my shop. Please always properly compensate artists—that’s all I ask.

WILL YOU DO COLLABORATIONS?

Yes! Let me know specific visions/ideas or rough sketches you’ve come up with. If I think it would be a good match and we could bring something special to life then I’m in! I will always credit you in a collaboration, and I would hope you would do the same.

DO YOU DO MURALS?

I definitely do! Please email me with all the details. YasminGunberg@gmail.com or contact me through my site, here!

DO YOU TAKE COMMISSIONS?

Unfortunately, I am not taking commissions at this time. If that changes, I will be sure to post on Instagram, and on my website.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN MAKING ART?

Since I could hold a pencil! In terms of actually creating pieces, I would say around sixteen years old. After my mother passed away it really became my greatest outlet. I became more serious with oils through college. Once I graduated, I simultaneously went through some heartbreak—a common occurrence at that age—which pushed me to travel to India, Nepal, and Southeast Asia. It was there that my current style started to show itself. When I came back to the US in 2018 I spent a lot of time in Joshua Tree, the Mojave, and New Mexico where my style developed even more.

WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU WORK WITH/WHAT’S YOUR PROCESS?

My most common material is watercolor. I start each piece as a pencil drawing, then paint it with watercolor, and finally outline/detail it with pen. These pieces usually do not take longer than a day or two. My oil paintings are a completely different story—I can work on an oil piece from anywhere between one week to one year. Sometimes it pours out of me and I’m in the zone—other times I get really stuck and will leave a piece for a few months. It’s all a process!
